Welcome to this week’s club news, FACEBOOK: Have you liked our club Facebook page yet? At the moment, we’ve reached almost 450 likes, my aim is to reach 1,000 by the end of the season. Will you help? If so, just visit https://www.facebook.com/eireoggreystonesgaa/ and click the “like” button. LOTTO: Did you know that last year the total cost for running the club was €130,000? Membership subscriptions account for only 25% of the club’s annual income. The remainder has to be generated through fundraising. The principal contributor to this is our weekly lotto draw. Tickets are priced at a modest €2. There is a guaranteed weekly cash prize and a maximum jackpot of €12,000. You can enter at www.eireoggreystones.com . The winning numbers in this week’s draw were 3,9,15,20. Nobody managed to match 4 or even 3 numbers so next week’s jackpot rises to €6,800. FIXTURES AND RESULTS: As well as the lotto make sure to keep your eyes on the club’s website for all the latest adult and juvenile fixtures and results. Here’s just a sample: - 31 March: Barndarrig 5-12: 2-09 U16 Football
- 3 April: U14 Football 4-08: 0-08 An Tochar
- 10 April: Michael Dwyers v Minor Football
- 11 April: Bray Emmett’s v Senior Football
- 17 April: Senior Hurling v Kilcoole
STRICTLY COME ÉIRE ÓG: Want to have fun, meet new friends and help raise funds for the club? Strictly Éire Óg will take place in the Fitzpatrick Hotel, Killiney on 10th June. We still need a few dancers (especially men!) to complete the couples. You’ll receive full training and be supported at every stage. It’s really enjoyable, just look at some of the photos from last year http://eireoggreystones.com/gallery/strictly-eire-og-greystones-the-big-night/ SENIOR FOOTBALLERS LOSE OUT: Disappointing result all around, slow to get going, sluggish and basically just not a great night at the office but these nights can occur after 3 or 4 positive performances in the earlier rounds of the league. On a positive note the full back line was outstanding, especially Jack Tanner & Matt Maguire. David Behan performed admirably against his former team and Karl Manahan made a welcome return. Re-focus is the word of the week as we regroup & look forward to our next fixture Monday April 11th in Bray Emmetts. Yours in sport Daniel English, club secretary
