Welcome to the club’s weekly news WELCOME BACK: Happy new to one and all. Overall, the club has to be pleased with its progress in 2015. Nevertheless, the incoming committee inherited a few niggles, not least in the area of finance. It is an unfortunate fact that fundraising is destined to take up a huge amount of the clubs energy in 2016 and, indeed, it was central to the new Coistes first meeting on Wednesday 6thJanuary. To this end why not sign up to the club’s weekly lotto. Tickets are just €2 and you can enter at www.eireoggreystones.com U21 HURLING: Our u-21 hurlers on the 2015 All-Ireland B winning squad, Anto Byrne, James Pooch Cranley, Danny Nolan and Sen Hughes, were presented with their medals at a recent reception in the Glendalough Hotel. The ceremony was a much-photographed occasion and our lads looked very well in their finery in the photographic montage that appeared in last weeks Bray People. CAPTAIN’S TABLE: The accolades keep coming for clubman Billy Cuddihy not only was he bestowed with the honour of Wicklow County Hurler of the year he’s also been made caption of the county team for 2016. Not do be outdone, club footballer Darren Hayden has been appointed vice-captain of the Wicklow senior footballers. Yours in sport
