Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Juvenile church gate collection and to everyone who stood at a table for the various masses. Special thanks to Stephen O'Gorman who organised the whole thing.
Planning will start soon for the Family Fun Day, which is pencilled in for the end of August. All offers of help will be taken up and anyone looking to get involved in the organising committee is very welcome to do so.
On the field, after a couple of relatively quiet weeks, the championship action returned with a bang this week and we've a few very busy weeks ahead of us. The Junior footballers and A hurlers got their championships off to a start this weekend, with very different results. The footballers lost badly to Portarlington but the hurlers recorded a win in their first match v Ballypickas earlier tonight.
Our U16 footballers will play their postponed Round1 match v Killeshin/Crettyard tomorrow evening in Acragar. Our U14s will play in Ballyfin v Abbeyleix, also tomorrow. Finally this week, the Junior C hurlers will play on Thursday v either Castletown or Camross in the semifinal of that competition.
