The Castlehaven minor team had a great win over Bantry in the quarter final of the championship in Drimoleague on Sunday evening. It was a hard earned victory against a very physical Bantry team. The first half was very close encounter, with scores hard to come by. Castlehaven lead at half time by 1-04pts.to 0-01pts. Bantry thundered into the game the second half and monopolised possession, but Castlehaven backs defended brilliantly and kept the goals out. Castlehaven got a vital goal to open up a six point lead, Bantry closed the deficit to two points with five minutes remaining. Castlehaven regained their composure to kick two late points to win by 2-10pts to 0-12pts. The U/14 panel were in league action on last Thursday night, when they travelled to Rossmore to play Kilmeen. The Haven started well and the scores started to flow freely and they had built up a commanding lead by half time. In the end the Haven ran out convincing winners.

The annual Summer camp took place in Moneyvolihane last week and it turned out to be a resounding success with 167 kids taking part. The club would like to thank all the coaches who gave up their time to coach the kids, also the local business' for supplying refreshments and everyone who helped out with the barbecue on the last day.
The club wishes best of luck to Damien Cahalane and Mark Collins who are on the Cork senior hurling panel for next Sundays All Ireland semi final.
The Castlehaven U10 girls travelled to Bantry on Saturday morning to play Bantry in a challenge game. The girls played some great football and were impressive winners.
