The Castlehaven U 13 team played Bandon in the A league on Thursday 12th of on June. On a lovely sunny summers evening, perfect for a game we saw great attacking football from both sides. Gavin Foley opened the scoring with a goal after a great movement out of defence and quickly followed with a point. Sean Bohane and Andrew Whelton followed up with points and then Cormac McCarthy finished of a slick team movement with a great finish to the corner of the net. Half time score 2-4 to 1-5 for Bandon. Second half saw Sean Bohane and Cormac McCarthy again getting goals. With Donnacha Maguire getting three points and Ritchie Burchill, Jack Cahalane and Andrew Whelton scoring as well. Full time 5-8 to 3-8. A hard fought victory. The Castlehaven U10’s took part in a monster blitz host by Clon GAA on Saturday last. They played three games in total. The first game was against Timoleague, followed by games against Kilmeen and Valley Rovers. Castlehaven coach Liam O’Connell assisted by Mike Maguire and Padraig Bohane were pleased with all three performances and Castlehaven played lovely football at times in warm sunny conditions. Stand out performers were Stewart Fuller in goal, Joseph Bohane, Daniel Buckley, Ewan McNulty and Shane O’Connell who were rock solid in the backs, Jack O’Neill who dominated at midfield while our attack was by led by Mark Crowley, James Buckley, Paddy French, Micheál Maguire, Eoin Maguire and Paddy Taylor and special mention for birthday boy Davin Limerick. Conn Buckley acted as water boy which was welcomed by the players given the sunshine on the day.

The club have a big representation on the Cork senior football panel Mark Collins, Brian Hurley, Sean Dineen and Damien Cahalane for the Munster championship, they play Tipperary in the Munster semi-final at home on Saturday evening.
Damien Cahalane has a busy summer ahead with the Cork hurlers and footballers, he had a great game for the hurlers last Sunday in their victory over Clare in the Munster championship semi-final.
