The Castlehaven ladies team created history last Saturday by winning the Intermediate County title.  What a group of players and management team on going in four consecutive years from winning the Junior C 2019  & B 20 & A 21 and now the Intermediate 2022. There is great credit due to the Ladies club are the great and hard work over the last 12 years. It will be great for the Castlehaven club to be playing senior football in mens and Ladies grade for 2023.

The Castlehaven and St. Finbarrs senior teams played out another classic of PSFC championship football  last Sunday at Pairc Ui Caoimh. It was another  high scoring game with both sets of forwards on top. The sides were level 11 times over the hour. Castlehaven stuck for a goal first but the Barrs replied with 3 points for the side to go in level at half time Castlehaven 1-08pts St. Finbarrs 0-11pts . The Barrs scored 0-03 pts after the break to go 0-03 up. Castlehaven rallied and scored the next 0-0 4pts to go0-0 1 pts up. The winning of the match for the Barrs was when they scored 1-01pts to open up a 0-03pts lead. Castlehaven went hunting the game but the Barrs defended deep and held on to win by 0-04pts.
Full Time score Castlehaven 1-16pts St. Finbarrs 2-17pts. It is always tough to lose a championship game especially a semi final. The players left everything on the field. Today just wasn’t our day and we bow out of the championship. Huge credit to the players and management for the commitment, effort, hard work & sacrifices they made throughout the season.

The Castlehaven U17 team played Kilmurry last Saturday evening in Brinny for the U17 Div 2 County semi final.
Goals win games and  Kilmurry scored three in the first five minutes so Castlehaven were always chasing the game.
Castlehaven never gave up but Kilmurry matched them score for score for the game to have a deserving win. Full-time score Castlehaven  0-10pts Kilmurry 3-11pts .
Over all the team and management can look back on a very successful year especially win the Regional final.
