U16 A County Final
The Castlehaven and Ballinora U16 teams gave an excellent display of championship football in the county final last Sunday at Clonakilty.
It was a good, tough game in poor weather conditions between two very committed sides. The wind was blowing across the field and slightly favored Castlehaven in the first half. Both teams started well, kicking some good scores with Ballinora getting an early goal to lead by 1-02pts to 0-03pts after 12 mins. Castlehaven dominated before the break scoring a great goal to lead at half-time by 1-06pts to 1-03pts. Castlehaven were excellent after the break scoring 3pts to lead by 6pts after 40 mins. .Ballinora came more into the game for the last 20 minutes and started to make plenty of scoring chances. They went all out attack outscoring Castlehaven 0-0 5pts to 0-01 pts. Castlehaven led by 2 pts with 5 mins remaining. Castlehaven were now under tremendous pressure but they showed great character and kicked a late point to win the game but FT Castlehaven 1-11 to Ballinora 1-08pts. Captain Sean Bohane was presented the cup after the game.

Castlehaven vs Carrigaline on Wed 7th at St. Finbarrs Cork.
The Castlehaven U15 team bowed out of the championship when they were defeated by Carrigaline on Wednesday night in Cork. The first half was very even with the sides level at ht Castlehaven 2-04pts Carrigaline 1-07pts. Carrigaline were the better team in the second half and went on to win the game by ft Castlehaven 2-07pts Carrigaline 2-12pts. The team may be disappointed after the game but they gave some outstanding displays during the year competing at the premier 1 grade.
