There was no winner of the weekly club lotto, the numbers drawn were 23-24-37next weeks draw will take place at Lill's with a jackpot of €5,200.



The Castlehaven senior team played CIT in the 1st round of the championship last Monday in Newcestown . The game was played in excellent weather conditions. Castlehaven made a lively start and registered the first 0-02pts after 10 minutes. CIT settled and began to play some very good football for the next 10 minutes. CIT scored the next 0-05pts to lead at half time by 0-08pts to 0-04pts.

Castlehaven improved big time after half time and upped their work rate hugely. Haven went all out attack putting the CIT defence under pressure. Castlehaven scored 1-04pts after the break to lead by 1-08pts to 0-10pts after 45 minutes. Castlehaven kept up the attacking and outscored CIT 0-06pts to 0-02pts for the last 10 minutes. CIT went forward late in the game but some excellent defending kept them at bay. Catlehaven retained possession in injury time and ran down the clock. Full time score Castlehaven 1-14pts CIT 0-12 pts.

The Castlehaven junior ladies team continued their good league form with good victory over Ross ladies last Tuesday night . The home team dominated the start of the game and raced into an early lead.  Castlehaven settled and the teams were level Castlehaven 2-06pts Ross 1-09pts after 44 minutes . Castlehaven played some great football for the last 15 minuites and went on to win the game by 5-11pts to 1-09pts.

 Castlehaven ladies took the spoils over Tadhg MacCarthaigh in an entertaining contest last Sunday. Castlehaven got off to a great start aided by a strong breeze leading 2-05pts. to0-02pts after 15 minutes. Tadhg MacCarthaigh got into their stride and finished the half well leaving the half time score 2-09pts to 2-02pts. Both teams showed all that is good in ladies football with great team plays, excellent scores and some fine defending on show. The game ended on a full-time score of 2-12pts to 3-06pts.

The U14 girls were away to Clonakilty last Saturday morning in a legue game. After a great start they led by 0-05pts at half time. But Clon were much in a second half and finished very strong on a scoreline of 9-03pts to 3-09pts Their next game is fixed for Monday 24th in Union Hall at 7pm.

Congratulations to Castlehaven club chairman Christy Collins received the Club Person of the Year on  Friday 7th  in Bandon he received the award for the spearheading of major redevelopment of the club's grounds and facilities.
