ACFL Div 4

Athlone 7-18 Tubberclair 0-7

Athlone take on Milltownpass in the final round of the league in Páirc Chiaráin next Sunday (throw-in TBC) with another win required to ensure that we avoid relegation and play in division 4 again next season so a similar turnout and performance will be required for that game.

Athlone U12 Girls

Athlone travelled to Streamstown on Thursday last to take on Kilbeggan/St Josephs in the Girls’ Under 12 league.  Athlone got off to a great start with a goal and a point from Grace McGlynn, but, with the aid of a strong wind, Kilbeggan took over and led by 1-5 to 1-4 at half-time. A great second half performance from the Athlone defence laid the foundation for the win, and goals from Aine DiTullio and Katie Dwyer saw Athlone the victors on a final score of 3-8 to 1-6.

Athlone: Ciara Murphy, Abbie Farrell, Aoife Mc Givern, Kayla Dunne, Abi Joyce, Orla Surlis, Aine Martin, Aine Di Tullio, Kenzi Francis, Kelly Donoghue, Katie Dwyer, Gemma Mannion, Grace Mc Glynn, Ciara Hughes, Sarah Mc Namara, Jillian Begley, Merisa Kiripati, Lore Okedugha, Aobha Kenny, Aine Galvin.

U10/U8 Girls Blitz

Well done to all the U8 and U10 girls who participated in the blitz held on Wednesday last at Páirc Chiaráin. A big thank you to the visiting clubs - Caulry, Garrycastle and Goldsmith Girls, who helped make it such a great evening.  See the Athlone GAA Official Facebook page for match & team photos and thanks as always to club photographer Padraig Devaney for taking and posting those.
