The Galway Senior Hurling team to play Tipperary in Saturday’s All-Ireland Quarter-Final has been announced.
There are 2 changes to the side that were beaten by Kilkenny in the Leinster final with Sean Linnane and Cianan Fahy starting in place of Fintan Burke and Conor Cooney respectively.
There are also a number of positional changes, the most notable being the selection of Joseph Cooney in the half back line.
Galway and Tipperary is a regular pairing in the knockout stages of the championship.
Galway have won three out of their last four championship meetings against Tipperary. They are usually tight games, with only a single score separating the sides in five of their last eight championship clashes.
This will be Galway’s 38th All-Ireland quarter-final game in championship history.
Their first was against Antrim in 1971. Galway have won 25 of their previous 37 quarter-final matches.
The game throws in at 6.15pm on Saturday evening from the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick and it is live on Galway Bay FM.
