OTHER NEWS

This is a fantastic event in support of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta House.
Well done to Fergal Healy, his Management team and all the panel for getting involved in this worthy cause.

The GAA has today launched a Smart Sliotar which will be used in the upcoming U20 Hurling championships.
The Smart Sliotar is the result of a detailed review and analysis carried out by a special Work Group established by Uachtarán CLG Larry McCarthy in 2021 and chaired by Ned Quinn.
The Smart Sliotar project aims to ensure that approved Sliotar suppliers adhere to the Sliotar specification set out in the GAA Official Guide and that approved Sliotars perform on a consistent basis.

CAMOGIE
Sarsfields have defeated Oulart the Ballagh to become champions of the 2021 AIB All Ireland camogie championships.
They started the brighter and blitzed Oulart in the opening 5 minutes or so. Siobhán McGrath scored 1-1 inside the opening few minutes, a sign of things to come from the forward who was sensational throughout.
Oulart struggled to get into a rhythm and in all honesty were second best for most of the afternoon. A couple of brilliant goals from Una Leacy and a stunning solo strike from Curran gave Oulart some hope, with the gap standing at four points with 20 minutes to play.
Oulart never got closer than this however, and Sarsfields managed the game well to come away from Croke Park with a four point victory. Maria Cooney, Orla McGrath were sensational, but the star of the show was Siobhán McGrath, whose inspirational performance got Sarsfields over the line.
