2016 July 18: Sarsfields Hurling Club lotto The numbers drawn on July 18 were: 2, 3, 7, 15. There were no jackpot winners, there were 2 match three winners: Phyllis Morrissey, Michael Cooney. The sellers' prize went to Harbour Bar, N. Morrissey. Next week's draw, for a jackpot of €5,800 will be be held in the Harbour Bar Bullaun on Monday 25 July. Golden Jubilee 1966 to 2016 Sarsfields will hold a weekend of celebrations to commemorate their Golden Jubilee. The celebrations take place from Friday, July 29, to Sunday, July 31. And will include a host of events to remember the past and present members of the club, along with their many winning teams from the past half century. Friday, July 29 Events will kick off Friday 29th July 7 pm with mass for deceased members in Bullaun church, and immediately afterwards, a display of photographs and memorabilia in Bullaun Hall. That night the Harbour Bar will host a music entertainment evening provided by Fergal, Adrian and friends. Saturday, July 30 Sarsfields golf in Loughrea Golf Club (11 am to 12 pm) Sarsfields Hurling on the Road (3:30 pm to 5:30 pm) Saturday's events will focus on Sarsfields early heroes, as presentations will be made to 1966, 1968, 1976 and 1980 hurling teams and the 1974 and 1975 East Board winning football teams, at a function in Wards Ballyfa that night at 9 pm where the special guest will be sports journalist Jim Carney. Sunday, July 31 The weekend's celebrations will conclude on Sunday at a Gala Function in the New Inn Community Centre at 8 pm, where MC for the night Sean Walsh will introduce the 1993 and 1994 back to back All-Ireland winning side, along with the clubs other county champion teams from 1980 to 2015 (a time when Sarsfields won seven senior titles). Tickets for the Gala Function are priced at €15, where there will be a buffet and bar, followed by DJ after the presentations, but numbers are limited. Music by DJ Corky. Sarsfields Golf A Single Stableford at Loughrea Golf Club with tee times from 11 am to 12 noon on Sat 30th. For a tee-time please ring David McGann (087) 636 0411 Sarsfields Hurling on the Road - the Jimmy Kelly Perpetual Trophy. Time - 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm on Sat 30th. Overall winners receive the "Jimmy Kelly Perpetual Trophy" Prizes for: 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams overall. Best Camogie team. Best Juvenile (U18) team.
