2014 Adult Player of the Year Awards and Club Person of the Year will be held in the Clubhouse this Saturday 7th February at 9pm. All players are asked to attend and all members welcome. Registration fees are due and must be paid by the 16th February 2015. We will facilitate this process by having a member available to collect the subscriptions on the 10th, 11th, & 12th February from 7-8.30pm and 14th February from 11am–1pm in the club. However, registrations will be taken any time before by post to the Club Registrar at Good Counsel GAA & Camogie Club, Davitt Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12. Alternatively they can be left in the registration box at the back of the club bar. You can download the 2015 Registration Form from the Club website. The Club will be holding a recycling drive as a fundraiser for the Club on Saturday 28th February. Clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts and soft towels are acceptable. More details are available on the Club website www.goodcounsel.ie. A wonderful night was had by those who attended the Camogie Awards on Saturday in Westmanstown. Our thanks to Dublin Camogie Board for organising the event so well. The evening was made even more special when Good Counsel came away with several awards. Emma Whyte was voted Senior County Player of the Year and Sarah Coyne was voted Senior 6 Club Player of the Year. The Senior 6 League trophy was also presented to captain Aedin McAdams and members of the winning team. Great to get a bit of silverware back in the Club. The Club Lotto was not won this week. Next week’s jackpot is €4100. Bingo continues every Wednesday at 8.30pm in the club. Texas Hold’em continues on Friday nights in the bar at 9pm. Button accordion and concertina lessons are available every Monday night at 8pm in the clubhouse. There are Set-Dancing classes every Monday in the hall at 7.30pm. Beginners welcome. Anybody interested in taking up fencing as a hobby can have a go on Tuesday evenings in the club. Details are available in the club.
