Last week we learned of the passing of our good friend Shay Corry who passed away on Tuesday 3rd October. Shay who was an Ex Club Chairman and a former Bar Manager in our Club will be dearly missed by all his family and the good friends he made throughout his life. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
MATCH FINALS: Congratulations to our Under 14 Camogie Team who beat Ballinteer St. Johns last Saturday to reach the Division 2 Championship Final against Erin’s Isles. This final will take place in O’Toole Park, Crumlin at 10am this Saturday 14th October. Also this weekend our Senior 3 Camogie Team play Faughs/Celtic in their Championship Final on Sunday 15th October at 4:15pm in O’Toole Park. Good luck to both teams.
LIP SYNC FUNDRAISER: Less than 2 weeks to go to our big club Fundraiser – have you got your tickets yet? Tickets are €20 each and are available from any of the acts or member of the event committee. For further information please contact Gretta Byrne, Liz Baker, Maria Coleman or Deirdre Conway if you need tickets. By now, all our Acts have been introduced to you on our Club Facebook Page – Online Voting is available and every €2 raised online equals 1 VOTE for your chosen act. Check out our Facebook page @goodcounselgaa for further information. There will be a Closed Rehearsal for kids only on Friday 20th October from 7pm-9pm. Entrance is €3. Children will be supervised so get them down so that they can also enjoy the entertainment. There will be a shop opened that evening to sell sweets and soft drinks.
CLUB SHOP: Club gear can be purchased by contacting James Murphy on 085 1237970. A list of all Stock held was posted to the Club Facebook Page on Monday. James will also be at the club house on Saturday 14th Oct 10am-1pm if you wish to purchase anything.
PLAYING SEASON 2018 – ADULT TEAMS: The Executive Committee invites applications from all who are interested in managing our adult teams for the 2018 season. Management teams will be required for the following teams: Senior 1 Camogie; Senior 4 Camogie; Intermediate Football; Junior Football; Adult Hurling; Minor Football & Hurling. Applications must be submitted in writing to Gretta Byrne, Rúnaí or by e-mail to secretary.goodcounsel.dublin@gaa.ie by Monday 23rd October 2017. Existing Managers must also apply if they are still interested in taking their teams in 2018.
2017 CLUB AGM: Please be advised that the 2017 Good Counsel GAA & Camogie Club AGM will be held on Thursday 9th November 2017 at 8pm in the clubhouse. Please be advised that only those members who have paid their subscriptions in full by 31st March 2017 will be entitled to vote at the AGM. All nominations for positions on the incoming Executive Committee and all motions for consideration at the meeting must be submitted, in writing, to the Club Secretary no later than 18th October 2017. Nominations or motions received after this date will be deemed invalid.  |
