PLAYING SEASON 2018 – ADULT TEAMS: The Executive Committee invites applications from all who are interested in managing our adult teams for the 2018 season. Management teams will be required for the following teams: Senior 1 Camogie; Senior 4 Camogie; Intermediate Football; Junior Football; Adult Hurling; Minor Football & Hurling. Applications must be submitted in writing to Gretta Byrne, Rúnaí or by e-mail to secretary.goodcounsel.dublin@gaa.ie by Monday 23rd October 2017. Existing Managers must also apply if they are still interested in taking their teams in 2018. 2017 CLUB AGM: Please be advised that the 2017 Good Counsel GAA & Camogie Club AGM will be held on Thursday 9th November 2017 at 8pm in the clubhouse. Please be advised that only those members who have paid their subscriptions in full by 31st March 2017 will be entitled to vote at the AGM. All nominations for positions on the incoming Executive Committee and all motions for consideration at the meeting must be submitted, in writing, to the Club Secretary no later than 18th October 2017. Nominations or motions received after this date will be deemed invalid. MATCHES: Congratulations to our Adult 4 Football team who had a superb performance and win over St. Finian’s on Saturday in Galty to reach the League Promotion Play Off Final by a score of 1-21 to 1-07. Also over the weekend our Senior 2 camogie team reached their Championship Final by beating Na Fianna B 5-10 to 0-8. Keep an eye on Facebook for details of the Final. On Sunday, our u13 Camogie Team had an epic championship semi-final against Fingallians in Walkinstown, nothing could separate them and it went to extra time - still nothing could separate them. Replay will probably be next Sunday – keep an eye on our club Facebook page for fixture confirmation. Great wins for our Counsel Gael Under 14 and Under 15 footballers. LIP SYNC FUNDRAISER: Less than 3 weeks to go to our big club Fundraiser – have you got your tickets yet? They are selling fast so don’t be disappointed. Tickets are €20 each and are available from any of the acts or member of the event committee. For further information please contact Gretta Byrne, Liz Baker, Maria Coleman or Deirdre Conway if you need tickets. Also we are looking for businesses to take out ads in the Lip Sync Event Programme - €100 full page ad or €60 half page ad – we are looking for all members, parents and supporters to ask their employers, family or friends if they would be interested in supporting this fundraising by purchasing an Ad. Our Road Leagues tournament was a brilliant success last week with lots of boys and girls taking part. Well done to Paddy Baker and Gavin Maher for organising it and to the many volunteers who helped make it a huge success – all the boys and girls had a wonderful time.  |
