Hard luck to our AFL11 Junior Football Team who unfortunately were beaten by league leaders Lucan and as a result missed out on a promotion play off at the weekend. Our AFL4 Football Team finished off their league in great style by beating Man O’War to confirm home advance for play off and 2nd position. The play off should be early October so make sure you come down to support the team. At the weekend our club hosted 3 Camogie teams – 2 from the Cork Club Laochra Óg and 1 from Naomh Éamann of Laois. We had 3 great matches in Galty in windy conditions. Many thanks to Paddy Baker for organising the event, to David Conway for the fabulous photographs and to Helen Delaney for helping out with the teas/coffees/sambos! Thank you to the visiting teams, we were delighted to host you. Lip Sync training kicked of last Monday not only was there great excitement amongst all the participants but the younger generations were also trying to get in on the act – keep yourself kept up to date by checking out our @goodcounselgaa Club Facebook page. This is a big commitment by all our participants so please give them your support. Lots of social activities next weekend: Our Official Launch Night for Lip Sync Battles Counsel Style takes place on Friday 15th September starting at 8pm. The night will include an introduction to all the participating groups, a presentation will be made by our main sponsor Drimnagh Credit Union and you will also get to see all the participants perform a sneak preview of the Group Dance – not to be missed!! There will be music and finger food - all are welcome to attend. Tickets for Lip Sync event will be on sale @€20 each. On Saturday 16th September we have our Football Final Preview with Football Legends 8pm. This is a ticket only event €15 each - contact Hughie Cullen. On Sunday 17th the All Ireland Football Final takes place, and those who aren’t lucky enough to get a ticket are welcome to join us in the club to cheer on the boys in blue.
