We had a busy week in the club with our last Summer “Club” Camp attended by about 100 boys & girls. A huge well done to Paddy Baker and all the coaching staff who helped make all our Summer Camps a great success and a positive experience for everybody who took part. On Friday afternoon Baby Boss was a real hit at our “Kids Movie Time” with over 50 boys & girls enjoying the afternoon entertainment – well done to one of our Lip Sync groups for organising this fundraiser and the many people who helped on the day. On Saturday morning we had a very busy day starting with our Car Boot Sale. Well done to Hughie Cullen for organising it and to young Conor Cullen for getting up so early to help his Dad out. There were a good number of cars and plenty of people came down to purchase a few bargains. It’s probably fair to say that the person who bagged the most bargains on the day was one of our younger camogie players Mia Coleman, she has excellent negotiating skills and loves shopping. On Saturday evening, the Club hosted the Tomás Mulligan Memorial Match in aid of Pieta House. There was super turnout to remember the Big Man who left us 10 years ago. Well done to Stephen Hoary who was the chief organiser and coordinator of the event and to everybody else who helped out on the day. Many thanks also to all the former Dublin Players and Good Counsel (past & present) for putting on a great performance – it was a fitting tribute to remember Tomás. Tickets are now on sale for our “Football Final Preview” on Saturday 16th September @ 8pm with special guests Mickey Whelan, Vinnie Murphy, Dave Foran and John O’Leary. The event is hosted by John Duggan from Today FM and afterward there will be music from The Beermats. This event is by ticket only – Strictly Over 18’s Event. Tickets cost €15 and are available from Hughie Cullen. Function Room doors open at 7pm. No cash will be taken at the doors. Our big club fundraiser "Lip Sync Battles Counsel Style" is less than 9 weeks away and our Acts will be starting their training very shortly. We will be officially launching the event in the club bar on Friday 15th September – further information will be posted to our Facebook Page this week.
