The inaugural intermediate football challenge for the Tom Mulligan Memorial Cup took place at the weekend between Good Counsel and Belmullet with Counsel coming out the victors. Both adult camogie sides beat Ballyboden last week, the seniors 3-10 to 1-1 and the juniors winning 4-4 to 0-1. Hard luck to Beth Whyte and Emma O’Byrne who were on the Dublin U16B squad at the weekend who were beaten by Waterford. As communicated previously, the executive committee reviewed the bar opening hours at its monthly meeting last Wednesday. The executive committee has now decided to re-open the bar on Monday nights commencing August 31 and to close instead on Tuesday and Thursday nights. These arrangements will again be reviewed at the end of October. The Launch night for Strictly- Counsel Style is on Friday September 4 at 8.30pm in the Club Bar. Dancers will be paired and their dance selected on the night. As most of the tickets are being sold by the dancers there are a limited amount left which will go on sale at the launch for €20.00. There will be finger food and entertainment on the night and all club members are invited to come along and join in the fun. There will be special drinks promotions on the night also. The Club Lotto was not won last week, the numbers were 1-8-21. Next week’s jackpot is €1,300. Bingo continues on Wednesdays in the Club at 8.30pm. Texas Hold'em is on Fridays at 9pm. Set-dancing is on Mondays from 8pm.
