Last week the first team footballers were beaten by Clann Mhuire in Naul in a top of the table clash. The second team were also beaten last week by St Brigids. The senior 2 camogie side beat Lucan last week while the senior 5 side lost to Kevins. Next week, the hurlers play St Marks on Friday July 10 at 7.30pm in McGee Park and the senior 2 camogie side play Portobello on Tuesday at Galtymore at 7.30pm. The U10 camogie side got to experience Parnell Park on Saturday when they took part in a tournament organised by Craobh Chiaráin. Many thanks to Craobh. These young players displayed a great performance all down to commitment and training. Thanks to all the parents for their help and support. The best of luck to Beth Whyte representing Dublin in the U16 Leinster Poc Fada in Beann Eadair on July 11. Last week, gear was stolen from St James Gaels lock-up. Hurls, helmets and training gear were among the items taken. If you are using the containers in the Club, make sure that you lock them after you use them, it is the responsibility of all of us to look after Club property. The Executive Committee at its meeting on June 24 decided that for financial issues due to very few customers, to close the bar on Monday and Tuesday nights for the months of July and August commencing Monday July 6 (with the exception of the August Bank Holiday weekend). The matter will be reviewed again in September. The Club is also taking part in a fundraiser with the Echo newspaper, each Thursday there will be vouchers in the paper, the Club that collects the most wins a kit for their Club so please support! “Strictly” a reminder to all members and parents – please contact Gretta on 0876702866 if you have any update in obtaining an advert or donation for our forthcoming fundraiser – “Strictly Counsel Style” or indeed if you need more letters or any further information. The Good Counsel summer camps will be taking place for boys and girls under 13 on the following dates: Hurling and Camogie camp takes place on Monday 13 to Friday 17 July. Football camp will take place from Monday 20 to Friday 17 July. Both camps run from 10am to 2pm each day. The camps will be supervised by qualified coaches and there will be Dublin stars as guest coaches. The Club Lotto was won this week by May Mulligan, the numbers were 10-13-16. Next week’s jackpot is €500. Bingo continues on Wednesdays in the Club at 8.30pm. Texas Hold'em is on Fridays at 9pm. Button accordion and concertina lessons are on Mondays at 8 and set-dancing is on Mondays from 7.30pm.
