Please Read: A Message from Covid -19 Club Safety Officer  Peter Kerr

To all Players, Coaches Parents/Guardians, Referees and members. We recognise the difficult and frustrating time being experienced by everyone during the Covid-19 pandemic and we ask you to stay patient as we work on the procedures and protocols required before a return to play is allowed. We have in place Covid-19 Compliance Officers for each team throughout the club and our Covid-19 Committee is completing our Club Risk assessment and developing our Safety Plan. A return to rugby in Boyne is not permitted until our plan has been finalised and confirmed by IRFU. We will circulate as soon as completed, updated information including return to play procedures, guidance and dates of a return to rugby - targeted for mid-July. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued support.

Stay safe.

Peter Kerr

Boyne RFC Under 14

This is the current Boyne RFC under 14 team whose season, like every other club, was cut short due to Covid-19.  What inspired me to create this short video? Simple answer is, the motivation was an inspirational group of coaches, players and supporters who have brought endless joy over the years from the day they first took to the pitch.  I have watched these players train and play through rain, hail, snow and sun.  I have made great friends along the way. There has been success and disappointment but with each moment, these experiences have moulded players into fine individuals.  They play with pride.  They respect their team mates, their supporters, their club and their community.  They have celebrated and shared disappointments together but with each experience, they have learned more about themselves and each other. They have embraced all newcomers without reservation.  They have embraced all players as equals irrespective of colour, creed or ability.  On a personal note, they have embraced my son Robert who has special needs as one of their own so much so that a parent said this video would not be complete without Robert.  As a parent, this gives me great hope for the future.  This group of players will continue to develop as players and individuals.   The future is bright.

All clubs must embrace their mini’s and youths. They are our future both at club and country level.  They are our future leaders and must be allowed to flourish.  Encouragement is crucial.

It was great fun putting together this video. The players who have featured in this video are a credit.  I am forever grateful for their words of encouragement.  To my niece Rachel, thank you for your excellent technical ability putting this video all together.  To my wife, family and friends, thanks for being on this journey.

A proud dad and supporter.
