The Irish Coupe Squad:
Congratulations to our superstar Shane Rafferty & his doubles partner Zach Meegan Athlone Boat Club on the G O L D Medals in the M2x- at the Coupe Regatta on Saturday.
They placed 2nd in their heat to qualify along with Belgium. They were the fastest crew off the start of the final & led the race through 500m.
They slipped into 3rd place coming through the 1000m but a fantastic 2nd half saw them take and hold the lead to the line for the win

Congrats again to Shane & Zach who backed up Saturday’s Gold with another on Sunday in the 2x-
They were 2nd through the 1K mark & once again pulled through in the 2nd half to take the win.
SMRC Congratulates Shane, his coaches, family and all who helped his hard work and talent bring him so far.
Well done Shane & Zach – a brilliant result & the entire club are very proud of you both.
Cyril Mullins R.I.P.
All of St. Michael’s R.C. send our condolences to the family & friends of Cyril Mullins who has sadly passed away at the age of 94.
Cyril and his late brother Paddy were true St Michael’s men & continued to support the club long after their racing had finished.
Cyril served as Club Captain from 1956 to 1958 and again in 1960 and 1971. He also served as Club President in 1973 and 1974.
