SMRC Lotto:
This week's lotto numbers are 26, 25, 3, 19 - best of luck!

Rowing news:
Ireland crews had three wins at the Home International Regatta at Cardiff Bay in Wales on Saturday 23rd July. Both the men’s and women’s senior fours were victorious, as well as the women’s senior eight.

Well done to Ben McKeown who rowed in the men's junior eight and all the Irish team. The Irish junior men were second overall with 16 points, with the team also having to share the spot with Scotland who also finished with 16 points.

Rio 2016:
We send best wishes to Sinead Jennings and all the Irish athletes comppeting in the Olympics this year. It's an exciting time for Irish sport.

Masters:
Training is continuing through the summer months in OBB with our own Masters, who will be competing at the World Rowing Masters Regatta in Copenhagen, 8th Sept. We wish them luck with their preparations. Also don't forget our own Masters event on September 17th.

Lucky dip:
This month’s Lucky Dip prize is a €50 voucher from Steamboat Music - Thank you Mark Carey for the generous gift. It will be drawn on August 1st from quite an interesting location...

Urban Run 2016:

We’re delighted to announce the date of this year’s Urban - October 9th. This is the biggest non-rowing event in our calendar and takes a massive effort. We hope you’ll get on board for the 10k run or 5k run/walk this year. It’s a real family day out for many people, and also a serious event for the high end athletes who compete on Munster’s flattest course. Many PB’s (personal best) are recorded which is a bonus.

We’ve secured a great main sponsor to help with running costs (haha!) and are also looking for smaller sponsor contributions to help offset the considerable expense of running such a large event. There will be a general call for volunteers also, who are vital to the success of the run.

There will be an official launch too and we'll let everyone know when it's coming up.

We look forward to a great day, but for now, all eyes are focused on the Champs on the 15th.

The SMRC lotto is a vital part of our fundraising plans, and in particular for our new slipway project as 100% of the lotto proceeds are ring fenced for this urgent construction. Thanks to everyone who has joined for the first time since the relaunch in January and also to those of you who renewed recently. Every one of you is very welcome.

Thank you all,
SMRC Lotto Committee.
