4. Christopher Vahey, Mountgeorge Last weekend our Seniors were out in their first competitive match of the year when we played Moycarkey Borris in the first round of the County League. After a close fought encounter we pulled away in the end and won by two goals on a score line of 2-12 to 0-12.
That win sets us up for our next round match V Clounoulty and the winners of that match go into the top tier of the County League. That game takes place in Clounoulty and throw in is 12pm this Sunday and we hope to see a good turn out to support the lads. Last night the draw took place for the Junior leagues in the North. Our A's first game is away to Nenagh and also in our group are Toomevara, Roscrea and Knockshegowna.
Our B's first game is at home to Silvermines and also in our group are Borrisokane, Ballina, Lorrha and Kildangan.
Two teams qualify from the group stages to the semi finals so its all to play for in the months ahead. Next weeks draw takes place in Stapletons Bar, Pallas Cross and the jackpot is worth €5,800
