It’s a heavy burden laziness.

This or That:

Pick between the two items below and see if you’re right. Afterall you have a 50/50 chance:

Last week’s ‘This or That’ was:

Between 1900 and 2020 what is the longest time that New York has ever gone without a murder? 12 days or 12 hours.

Brain Teasers:

Last week’s brain teaser was: I am the beginning of sorrow and the end of sickness. You can’t express happiness without me. I am always in risk yet never in danger. You may find me in the sun, but I am never out of the darkness. What am I?

Answer: The letter ‘S’

This week’s Brain Teaser:

An old Arab sheik must decide to leave his fortune to one of his two sons. He can’t however decide which one should inherit. He has an idea: Both sons will ride their camels in a race, and whichever camel crosses the finish line LAST will win the fortune for its owner. During the race, the two brothers wander aimlessly for days, neither willing to cross the finish line. In desperation, they ask a wise man for advice. He tells them something; then the brothers leap onto the camels and charge toward the finish line. What did the wise man say?

Focal na Seachtain:

In focal na seachtain I have included a word or phrase that you can try and bring into your speech during the week to help build up the ‘cupla focal.’

“Slán go fóill” = Goodbye for a while

Tales of Ó Muireartaigh: The commentaries of Michael Ó M are the stuff of legend.

"...Vinne Bateman, a Westmeath man. He's trying to cycle from Mullingar to Beijing. He's gone halfways, he's now into Uzbekistan. It's a long, long time since 1277 and since Marco Polo left Venice to go to Beijing, I don't think he had a bike to go to the same Beijing. The problem is he didn't get back for twenty years, the Westmeath man will be back sooner...and back to the football and there's men on the ground left, right and centre..."
