Earlier this year our esteemed Treasurer Dermot O’Brien put a shout out for someone to help run the club’s weekly draw. From the flood of volunteers would you believe I was selected. Dermot has been doing the lotto draw for us singlehanded for over 12 years. The Club owes a huge debt of gratitude to Dermot for all the work he does behind the scenes. I’m delighted to give a hand but Dermot will still be supervising proceedings. Sadly, beginners luck has not favoured us and once more there is no winner of the ever growing jackpot which this week stands at €10,400. The winner of this week’s Lucky Diphowever is €25 is Joanne McDonagh. So congratulations Joanne. While no jackpot was won on this day in 2023, on this day in 1887 – The Highest temperature ever recorded in Ireland (33.3C),was measured at Kilkenny Castle.
