Our Intermediate Ladies hosting Lucan Sarsfields in the Shield semi final last Wednesday, it was the visitors who progressed to the Final on a score line of 5-9 to 2-7.

Our Junior Hurlers made the trip to Islandbridge for the Championship quarter final against Civil Service on Sunday morning, the hosts had defeated Harps in the group stages by 5 points but Skerries got revenge and ran out deserving winners on a score line of 3-25 to 1-15. See full report on website.

Our Senior 2 Camogie team hosted Castleknock in the 3rd & final group stage game on Sunday lunchtime. Harps had won their opening two games & while the visitors had one win & one defeat in their games & needed a victory by 4 points to overtake the hosts & deny them a semi final spot so it was setup to be an enthralling encounter & that's exactly what unfolded. Final score: 4-10 to 1-19. See full report on Website.

Covid-19 update

In light of the updated Public Health Guidelines issued last week, the club has been awaiting and reviewing all GAA communications to allow us to issue as clear a set of protocols as possible as we continue to manage our Return to Play across Skerries Harps GAA & Camogie Club whilst adhering to the guidelines and focusing as always on the health & welfare of our players, mentors, coaches & supporters.

As per the latest guidance, all games must now be played without spectators "Behind Closed Doors". For all games, this means that a maximum of 40 personnel per team are permitted to attend within the pitch area - this 40 max must be players, mentors/coaches/medical or ancillary members of the coaching group.

Where Juveniles (U18s) are participating in a game, 1 parent / guardian per juvenile is permitted to attend the sporting event in a "supervisory" / "safeguarding" capacity.  These parents/guardians are not classified as spectators at this moment in time, in line with the guidance received this week.

The GAA recommendation as issued last Wednesday states that while further clarification is pending, the suggestion is that one parent/guardian may attend a game where they consider it necessary for the welfare of their own child.

All Social Distancing & public health guidelines should be adhered to at all times.

Match officials i.e. referee/umpires/linespersons are permitted in addition to the max of 40 per team, as are media personnel and club covid supervisor/stewards.

In relation to training - teams can continue to train, however must ensure that pods of 15 are maintained (for Juveniles u8-u16 this is 13 players, 2 mentors, for Adults 14 players, 1 mentor).

As has already been implemented, sanitising of all equipment must continue, records of those in attendance must be maintained,  and all players and mentors must complete the RETURN TO PLAY attestation prior to participation in any GAA session or match and it is the responsibility of each Team COVID Supervisor to ensure adherence to this mandatory requirement.

Skerries Harps GAA & Camogie Club is committed to ensuring, in as far as is possible for a voluntary organisation, adherence to the guidance and protocols in place and would ask our members, players, coaches and supporters to work with us to ensure that this can continue as it has done since the Return to Play commenced in June.
