Results for the last week:

Last Monday our U16 Footballers kicked off their Championship campaign with a comprehensive win against St Oliver Plunketts ER while our Minor Ladies Footballers lost out to St Vincents. On Tuesday the Junior Camogie team were the sole team in action as they hosted Na Fianna with the visitors coming out on top, 1-5 to 0-6.

Wednesday saw the Senior Ladies Footballers hosting Man O War in the final group game in the Intermediate Championship. Although both teams were out of running for a semi-final spot it was a keenly contested local derby with the the Harps up by a couple of point at the break. However, the home side dominated the 2nd half to record a 4-14 to 2-7 win. The Junior Ladies were away to Wanderers, the home side winning 2-10 to 1-10.

Our two U15 Hurling teams started their respective Championship campaigns on Thursday with wins over St Sylvesters & Erins Isle, a fantastic achievement to field two teams at this age group. Well done to the players & mentors!

Senior Footballers were up against Round Towers Lusk in their final Championship group game knowing that a win would secure a place in the last eight. Round Towers started very strongly & led 2-2 to 0-3 after 15 minutes but a strong finish to the 1st half saw Harps hit 2-3 in 10 minutes to lead 2-8 to 2-4 at half time, with the goals coming from Harry Dawson & Ciaran Murphy. The teams traded points in the opening stages of the 2nd half before Harps were awarded a penalty after 7 minutes however Dawson's effort was saved. Just over midway through the 2nd half Harps still held a 4 point lead before Ciaran Murphy bagged his 2nd goal followed by a point from Harry Dawson. Both sides kicked 3 points each in the final 10 minutes leaving the final score, Skerries Harps 3-15 Round Towers 2-10. Next up is a quarter final v St Judes on the weekend of 29/30 August.

Intermediate Footballers lost to Ballyboden St Endas, 0-15 to 0-10, on Saturday. In an evenly matched first half Ballyboden led 0-7 to 0-6 at the break. The hosts opened up a 3 point lead in the early stages of the 2nd half but Harps responded with the next 2 points to cut the deficit to the minimum midway through the half. Ballyboden finished stronger kicked the final 4 points of the game to run out 5 point winners.
