As you are all aware by now, we hope to build a walkway of 1 mile around streete sports complex. This will provide young and old with a safe place to walk as aposed to the roads and the dangers which come along with them. However nothing has happened with the walkway as yet, this is becaus we had to apply to Westmeath County Council for planning permission. This has all now been done and we await the answer. We have also applied for funding and none of this can be granted until everything is in order. Streete Vintage Weekend
Only one week left before our big weekend. It all kicks off with our Philip Moran Memorial tractor run starting from the park at 4pm SHARP. There is huge interest being shown in this and it looks like there could be well over 100 tractors involved. This will be a real run which will delight young and old to watch. All monies from the event goes to the Irish Heart Foundation which is the chosen charity of the Moran Family. After the run Ray Smith is providing music and food for all, this promises to be a great night on Ceol, Ol agus Craic. Please spread the word and support this event. John Noel Mc Givney is providing tea and sandwitches for all the tractor drivers at the Manor Nurseing Home which will be on route.
The Vintage day starts early for the people who help out on the day. This year we need help with different events and running of the day. PLEASE do tell family and friends to come down to the Park this Wednesday and Thursday at 8.30pm. Many hands make light work and the more events we can run the more money will be made for the upkeep and running of the complex. PLEASE PLEASE support this day as the running of the complex is getting more costly and we need to raise the funds to make sure we keep our great facility their for the kids of the parish.
