They are the now “Stars of the County Down”…Down Ladies are now All-Ireland Junior Championship winners and with it, gained promotion back to Intermediate football, following their tough win over Limerick. RGU send congratulations to our three club Down players, Orla, Paige and Neva. Orla Swail, Carryduff, was the goal hero at Croke Park, with the game in the balance and coming on as a substitute, scored the only goal, which proved to be a match winner. Final score Down 1:7 Limerick 0:8. Enjoy your celebrations.
The Hoops had their last league away game of the season, when they travelled to play Newry Shamrocks. The result was a disappointing 6 point defeat, but saw the Hoops finish 3rd in Division 2, scoring 264 points and conceding 230 points throughout the league.
The Hoops next game is the Morgan Fuel SFC against Saul, on Thursday 24th August in Darragh Cross, throw in at 7:15pm.
Bonkers Bingo is on Saturday 19th August, all welcome, Ticket price £10 and with tickets available on Klubfunder. Various prizes, with 1st prize an overnight stay for two in an executive room, with full Irish Breakfast, at the luxurious Grand Central, Belfast.
Our Jackpot is now £5100. No Jackpot winner this week, but the £100 was shared between Aileen Smyth, Patricia Slavin, Pamela Shields, Tom Hogan and John Crumley. Thanks to all who buy our Lotto tickets.
