Down Ladies are now one game away from winning an All-Ireland Junior Championship and with it, promotion back to Intermediate football, following their tough win over Carlow. Their opponents on the All-Ireland final day will be Limerick. RGU wish our three Down players, Orla, Paige and Neva, all the best for the final. See social media for ticketing arrangements.
For anyone not able to get to Croke Park this Sunday, it will be televised by TG4, throw in at 11:45am.
The Hoops had their last league home game of the season, when they played Saval. Both teams fielded without some of their more experienced players. The Hoops won the game on a score line of RGU 2:10 Saval 1:8. The Hoops final league game is away to Newry Shamrocks with a throw in time of 7:30 this Friday.
All the money collected at the home game to Saval, was donated to “All that’s Leo”, raising £1000. Leo who is two years old has been diagnosed with a very rare genetic condition called KAT6a Syndrome.
The Hoops championship game is the Morgan Fuel SFC against Saul, on Thursday 24th August in Darragh Cross, throw in at 7:15pm.
Bonkers Bingo is on Saturday 19th August, all welcome, Ticket price £10 and with tickets available on Klubfunder. Various prizes, with 1st prize an overnight stay for two in an executive room, with full Irish Breakfast, at the luxurious Grand Central, Belfast.
It is with great sadness that we learned at the weekend of the passing of Pat McDevitt, mother of our assistant Treasurer and Juvenile mentor, Brenda Murphy and former player Benny McDevitt, mother in law of Chairman John Murphy, and grandmother to senior players Ronan, Eilis and Sean.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Murphy family and the wider McDevitt family.
This Saturday there will be a fundraiser in the guise of “Breakfast Baps” during the Go games. When not call done between 10am and midday, and also watch some if the future stars of our game.
Our Jackpot is now £5000.
