RGU Senior’s men and senior ladies enjoyed excellent wins at the end of the week. The ladies won an exciting match against Burren on Thursday on a score line of RGU Ladies 2:8 Burren Ladies 1:7, whilst the men completed the double over Rostrevor, final score Rostrevor 0:14 RGU 0:20. Condolences to the Layden family on the passing of Joe, one of the longest surviving players from the 1950’s, who passed away last week at the age of 96. A lifelong Gael with a real passion for Irish traditional music and his native tongue, he will be sadly missed. Congratulations to our senior footballer Jarlath Brannigan and Sarah on the birth of baby Grace. Down Senior ladies had a great win over Limerick in Newcastle West on Sunday and now progress to the All-Ireland Junior Championship semi-final against Carlow on 23rd July, venue TBC. All the best to RGU Ladies on the Down Team, Orla, Paige and Neeva. All the best to the Down Senior men this Saturday when they play Meath in the Tailteann Cup Final. Good luck to our RGU Senior Men on the Down Team, Doc and Gerdie. It is much appreciated by all our hard-working mentors and thank you from our Juvenile and Coaching Committee Lotto Jackpot was on won and now rises to £4600.
