Work has started on our latest development project a 4G pitch at RGU.
This development will offer high quality playing characteristics which replicate natural grass and be suitable for use in all weather conditions.
This project feeds into our development pathway, where we've committed to continuous improvement of our facilities at Páirc Tomás Ruséil, our coaching methods, our cultural elements and all aspects of our club, to build excellence for the future.
We couldn't do this without the support of our members, sponsors and all our volunteers across the club - go raibh maith agaibh a chairde!
Great turnout for the first of our Friday Night football gigs as the boys and girls assembled at the Red High.
This is a great program and thank you to NMAD PCSP for supporting this initiative again.
We go again next Friday at 6.30 and this programme is open to all boys and girls from P2-P7
We are indebted to our wonderful coaches who give so freely of their time. Your efforts are very much appreciated. Go raibh maith agaibh
Handball has also started at the Red High, last Friday 7th October, P6 – P7 from 7:30pm to 8:15pm and 1st year’s from 8pm to 9pm. Everyone welcome.
PTR was a real hive of activity last week as local schools, Teconnaught, Ardglass, St Brigids, Our Lady and St Pats, Legamaddy, Carryduff and Loughinisland all competed in the local round of the Down Cumann na mBunscoi Canon Esler competition.
The weather held out and after all the activity St Joseph’s Carryduff and Our Lady and St Patrick P.S & Bunscoil Mhuire agus Phádraig, qualified for the semi finals. Maith Sibh!!
Join us in celebrating 125 years of GAA in Downpatrick and our Senior County Champions of 1972 at our Gala Dinner and Awards night which is being held on Saturday 29th October in the Millbrook Lodge, Ballynahinch. Tickets available now, priced £40 from any committee member or via Klubfunder.
Everyone is welcome, including all current and past members, all the friends and families of the #RGU_Hoops and Gaelic in Downpatrick.
Our U14 Girls had a thrilling 2022 Championship run, right through to today’s semi-final, when a strong Bredagh GAC side were just too much for this developing young team to handle.
Be proud of yourselves girls, you put in the effort from early February and gave your coaches, families and faithful band of supporters an entertaining season. Looking forward already to the 2023 season which won’t be won't be long coming round.
Unfortunately, our Minor ladies bowed out of championship, with Saval progressing to the next round. Credit to both teams who provided an entertaining game played in atrocious weather conditions. Final result, RGU 3-5 Saval 4-11

The prize amounts above are what each winner will receive.
