SENIOR MEN DRAW AGAINST WARRENPOINT
Our Senior Men played Warrenpoint on Friday night at Páirc Uí Ír.
After a dull first half, the RGU were 3 points down at the break to a 1.03 to 0.03 score line.
A quick burst in the 3rd quarter added a goal and a couple of points, putting the RGU into a 1 point lead. But the Blues came back strongly to lead by 4 points as the game entered the final stretch.
However, the RGU sprung to life once again, scoring 5 points unanswered, as they dominated the last 10 minutes of the game and had Warrenpoint on the ropes once again, taking a 1 point lead into the last kick-out.
But Warrenpoint persevered and managed to force a last free kick, taking a good score under-pressure to level the game.
The team were disappointed not to hold the lead at the end but having come from 4 points down with less than 10 minutes to go, it could be seen as a point gained.
Final Score: RGU 1.10 Warrenpoint 1.10
This week sees another away game, this time to Bryansford.
DOWN U16 REPRESENTATION
Well done to the Down U16 girls and management on their win in the Bronze Final of the Ulster Ladies Gaelic Championship against Fermanagh yesterday.
