Fantastic amount of £1675 raised at last week’s Senior match, all to be donated to SVP Downpatrick. Many thanks to all our supporters and all the SAUL GAC supporters who contributed very generously at the gate. Big thank you to Saul GAC club for their very generous donation of £100 as well.
U15 ladies played Saval this afternoon in a warm sunny encounter at PTR. The girls are finding the step up to A league more challenging than what they anticipated. However the girls will keep working hard to build on their progress so far. Best wishes to Saval player who got injured- heres to a speedy recovery. Well done to Saval who came away with the points.
RGU Senior ladies travelled to Saval this evening. This was always going to be a tough challenge for this young side who are progressing through a transition period, working hard to intergrate the up and coming young players into their senior team. Nevertheless the girls gave the game their all but it was a step too far, confirming that they are not ready for senior football just yet. The girls will continue to work hard and it wont be long before they are back playing top flight football. Well done to Saval.
Well done to the U15 boys who battled hard to overcome Clann na Banna CLG in a very entertaining game at PTR this evening. The lead changed hands several times in a free flowing game but the young Hoops dug deep to win by a narrow two point margin. Well done lads. Maith Sibh!
Many thanks to Donnan Ritchie from Ritchie McLean Mortgage Solutions for sponsoring the match ball for Friday nights clash against Saul. Donnan also helps the club with perimeter sponsorship and has been a great supporter over the years.
RGU Minor ladies put on another solid performance this evening as they travelled to Burren. Goals win matches and there were plenty on display this evening. Best wishes to Burren player who sustained injury after an accidental clash. Great to see this group of young players growing together.
Mixed fortunes for the U13 teams tonight, with the older boys, after two wins on the spin, coming unstuck at Cherryvale against a bigger more powerful Bredagh side. The guys never gave up and battled gamely to the end.
Back at PTR , in Section C, the young Hoops put in a magnificent display to overcome our visitors from Drumaness.
All that's good in Minor football was on display tonight at PTR. The Hoops and Kilcoo went toe to toe in a hard, but fair, competitive match. The lads came from 7 behind early in the second to win by 3. Great play, excellent scores and a super result. Well done to both teams for an entertaining match and well done to the Hoops for taking the 2 pts. Final score RGU 4-16, Kilcoo 5-1
