Our U-15 Ladies had a tough encounter this afternoon with their 1st league match v Burren at PTR. This is a step up for the girls into 'A' league but one that the girls will work hard at. Good to see all 26 girls in attendance eager to get playing. Training resumes Monday at 6pm. Thank you to JLF Sports for sponsoring todays u15 Ladies match ball.

RGU Senior Ladies started of the season with a solid performance and comprehensive win over Ballymartin at PTR. Several ladies made their debut this evening and certainly didn’t look out of place. Well done to everyone this evening. Final score: 2-15 to 3 - 3.

Best wishes to Erin, Naoimh and Eilis who picked up injuries this evening. Next game against Kilcoo on Saturday 22nd May.

Good win tonight for RGU Seniors against Saval at PTR in the first round of Corn an Duin. Pushed all the way, the Hoops finally put distance between the teams in the last  minutes. All the same a decent performance for the first match of the season, with some fine scores taken. Final score RGU 3.-15, Saval 2-10.

Well done lads and a special mention to Oran Cunningham who made his senior debut tonight and capped it off with a fine goal.

Despite having to field without some established players due to injury, the U-15s started their campaign this evening with a battling display against Castlewellan. On what was a real ding-dong battle over the hour , the visitors eventually pulled away in the final ten minutes to take the spoils. Some very good passages of play in the match but there is more to come from this group of players. Onwards and upwards.

Tough opener for the U13 boys as they travelled to Carryduff. In a very entertaining but see-saw game the boys went down by 2 points on a scoreline of 4-9 to 5-4. They thought that they had done enough for at least a draw but two late points saw the home team over the line. Nevertheless, a gutsy performance.

On a different note the recent spate of injuries continues unabated and this evening Isaac McAlinden suffered a nasty arm injury so we all wish Isaac a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the field of play shortly.

Training continues for all age groups this week, please keep in touch via the various WhatsApp groups and on our Facebook page. Details on registration and Covid protocols will be sent on these platforms.

This week’s lotto numbers drawn by Roisin Polly were 2, 4, 12 and 22. No jackpot winner. Jackpot has risen to £4,700 for next week. Two tickets matched three numbers to win £100, for Theresa Baggley and Oonagh Wallace.  Thank you for your continued support.
