Goals win games is the old adage and this proved true as our Senior team came out on the wrong side of the opening Senior Football Championship encounter with Rostrevor. RGU found themselves chasing the game from early on, after Rostrevor corner forward Conor Doyle netted in the first minute and Ardghal McMahon added another palmed goal to give them a five point advantage. RGU reduced the scoreline with both Conor McGrady and Tim Prenter impressive, before a foul on Caolan Mooney, saw Rostrevor captain, Shaun Parr scoring the resultant penalty. RGU pushed hard in the second half but Johnny Bell’s spot kick was saved by goalkeeper Gareth Clarke. Further scores from Rostrevor’s Doyle and Mooney sealed the win. Well done Rostrevor and we now await our opponents in the back- door series. Final

The ladies have their Senior Championship game at home to Bosco on Saturday evening, sponsored by Eamonn Rooney Coach Hire. The Minors will play Liatroim tonight at home and are away to Bryansford next Monday, 24th August.
Our U-15 boys take on Bright on Thursday evening.
The U-13’s A had a good win against Castlewellan on Tuesday night while the B team went down narrowly against Dundrum. This week both teams play Carryduff A and C teams.
The U-11’s has good wins against Bright and Castlewellan and this week the A team meet Bredagh while the B team play Castlewellan.
This week’s lotto numbers drawn by Roisin Polly were 16,17, 20 and 22. There was no Jackpot winner and one person wins £100 for matching three numbers. Jackpot is now £4700.
