Last weekend saw the return of football after a break of almost four months, which was due to Covid-19. It is great to be back. Please note that next week sees the return of juvenile fixtures.
The Seniors opened their account in Division 2, away to Bredagh with a draw in Cherryvale. A match the RGU Seniors looked like losing, yet they were unlucky that Bredagh snatched an equaliser with the last kick of the game. Result: Bredagh 2:06 RGU 1:09.
Next up is a home fixture, this Friday against St Johns. Please refer to social media later in week, as currently no spectators are permitted in the ground. If this changes, details will posted, but currently no spectators will be permitted.
The Senior ladies couldn’t have asked for a tougher start to their league and indeed they found it tough against arguably the best team in the Province as they lost to Bredagh ladies.
Also, a tough start for the Reserves on Saturday against Liatriom. After a good start they lost their way with the final score, RGU 0:11, Liatriom 3:12.
Best wishes to Ryan Wynn who sustained a nasty leg injury and hopefully, he will be back soon. Next Saturday we are away to Ballyholland.
