In their first game in the 2012 JFC Kilmainhamwood got the better of Slane on Sunday 15th April. The ‘Wood were well prepared and up for the match and started strongly notching up an early 5 point lead with contributions from Stephen Kiernan (2), Damien Russell, Aidan Crosbie & Harry Corbally. Slane hit back with 1-1 but the ‘Wood rallied again with Aidan Crosbie finding the net to leave it 1-8 to 1-2 in favour of the men from the ‘Wood at half time. During the second half Kilmainhamwood pressed home their advantage with points from Ray Madden, Harry Corbally, Damien Russell, Colm Gilcreest, Philip Moran & Stephen Kiernan with the latter finding the net to secure the victory. Best for Kilmainhamwood were Richard Corbally & Philip Moran in defence, Ray Madden at midfield and the full forward line of Damien Russell, Stephen Kiernan & Aidan Crosbie
