Kilmainhamwood hosted Bective in the fourth round of the AFL3 on Sunday 1^st April. The ‘Wood played some quality football in the first half and showed lots of heart and determination and were unlucky to trail by the minimum at the break 0-6 to 0-5. The second half resumed with the ‘Wood drawing level early on and had a goal chance well saved at the expense of a point by Bective keeper. However, the limitations in the squad proved their achilles’ heal when there were not able to replace a number of players who began to struggle with injuries and fatigue. Bective added 2-7 in the last 15 minutes to run out comfortable winners 2-18 to 1-09. Best for the Wood were Derek McDonald in goals, Ray Madden and Michael Shankey at midfield the Russell twins David and Damien and top scorer Steven Kiernan
