Kilmainhamwood Reserve League team were dealt a sucker punch in the last minute tonight, despite being the better team against Carnaross, and ended up losing by a point. The ‘Wood rued the number of wides as they dominated all but about 10 minutes of the game. Joey & Mark Kiernan were rock solid all game in the full back line, Shane Clarke & Richard Corbally won the midfield battle with the latter chipping in with a few points which he celebrated with his adoring crowd. Alan Carolan on the ’40 tormented the Carnaross defence all evening and it’s hard to believe he ended up on the losing side. Michael Clarke at full forward won a world of ball and passed with great accuracy. Ross O’Shea & Kevin Carolan worked hard too. The ‘Wood were 0-5 v to 0-4 up at half time and started the second half strongly. However, too many wides and a Carnaross purple patch meant that we came away with only a moral victory.
