Kilmainhamwood first team recorded a superb victory over a much fancied Ratoath in the first round of the Tailteann Cup at home on Friday 27th May.
The first half was a tight affair with the ‘Wood leading 0-4 to 0-3 at half time.
Both defences were on top for much of this encounter with Steven Smith and Sean Mulligan assisted by their four wing men kept the Ratoath forwards to a total of four points for the hour.
At midfield honours were even with Andy Farrelly sometimes getting the upper hand. David Russell and Steven Kiernan accounted for most of the 'Wood's scores but veterans Ray McGee Ray Madden and Colm Gillcreest gave outstanding performances .
