The week in review:-
Sun 2nd Dec
- 10:00 in Dunganny: U15 Div 6 final. Result Kilmainhamwood 3-07 : 2-09 Na Fianna. Report http://www.kilmainhamwoodgfc.com/u16.html

The Kilmainhamwood U15’s rounded off the year in style as their captured the Division 6 title in a well-contested match against a strong Na Fianna team on Sunday 2nd Dec at 10am in Dunganny, Trim. This was the last match that the club will compete in this year and what a year it has been for this talented bunch. Kilmainhamwood played with the aid of a strong wind and used the elements to their advantage with a goal apiece from the twin-towers, man-mountains, brothers-in-arms, Kian and Jack Gillespie. Na Fianna did come back into it as the half progressed but stout defending from full-backs Killian Russell, Pavilous Cesiunas and Kian Owens along with net-minder Seán Bennett ensured that the Enfield men were kept at bay. Half-backs Adam Doyle, Darragh Smith and Euan Lowry cleaned up any loose ball and supported the willing-running half-forwards Eoin Finnegan, Oisín Reilly and Rian Stafford. The menacing full-forwards of Colin Plunkett, John McGreevy and Eoin Rooney ensure that the Na Fianna backs were kept on their toes. Kilmainhamwood were seven points up at the break.

As the wind became stronger and Na Fianna upped their game, the men from the ‘Wood knew they were in a real game. Na Fianna closed the gap as the half progressed and a lot of finger-nails were eaten. The Kilmainhamwood goal was under siege as the clock seemed to take an eternity to tick down but our heroes stood strong and when the final whistle did eventually blow, the supporters could look out from behind their hands and jump with exultation as the ‘Wood were on the right side of a one point victory. Captain Kian Gillespie accepted the trophy on behalf of his team, coaches, all the parents and supporters and indeed the parish.

Well done to Richie Gillespie and Stephen Smith for all the time and commitment during the year in preparing the team. Indeed well done to all the juvenile coaches for a very successful year.

regards
Shane Russell & the lotto committee
