What should have been a great week for our club on the inter-county scene started very badly with an injury to Mathew Costello, in Tuesday evening’s Under 20 Leinster semi-final v Laois. All in the club send best wishes to Mathew for a rapid recovery.

Mathew and team mate Luke Mitchel lost out on a Leinster final place following Laois’s impressive 1-12 to 0-7 win. Luke had two of the Meath points and Mathew scored another.

Good luck to three of the club’s girls who line out in the All-Ireland Under 16 semi-final against Cavan at Donaghmoyne in Monaghan on Wednesday evening at 7p.m. The trio is Niamh McEntee, Clara MacCanna and Karla KealyAll support for the team and girls welcome..

Our keeper Adam McDermott will represent Meath in Saturday’s All Ireland junior semi-final in Hyde Park, Roscommon v Galway at 1 p.m. Very best wishes to Adam and the Meath team.

More activity on the inter-county scene saw four of our boys take part in Meath’s victory over Westmeath in the Gerry O Reilly Under 16 Tournament. John McDonagh scored 1-4, Aaron Murphy 0-2 while Conor Grey and Fursey Blake lined out at midfield and half back respectively. Congrats to all.

And finally Donagh McCarrick was part of the Meath Under 14 squad which drew with Kerry.

Our Minor boys had a great win v O Mahonys on Tuesday evening, coming out on top, 2-12 to 1-11.

Note that two junior games scheduled for the next two days will not be played as planned. Our B League Division 2 game is off as Moynalvey could not field a team. Even without this walkover our team is through to the final, which should be played in the near future. Our B League Division 5 game will now be played next Wednesday, 17thJuly,  in Dunshaughlin.
