Hard Luck

Great effort by Meath in Sunday evening's Gerry Reilly Under 16 Cup Final before going down to Monaghan by one point 2-8 to 1-10. Well done to our own Luke Mitchell who had six points for the Royals, to Cathal McCormack who joined the fray as a sub and to selectors Paul Murphy and Paul Nestor. Hard luck to all. Luke scored 4-23 over the four games. Impressive shooting from the U16 star.

Well done

Well done to our U 14s who defeated Simonstown last night in the U 14 Summer League.

BLACK BUSH SPORTS CLUB GOLF CHALLENGE SUNDAY JULY 30TH  On Sunday the Black Bush Golf Club hosted their second annual Sports Club Golf challenge for all local sports clubs. Clubs were invited to nominate teams consisting of 4 persons to compete over 18 holes for the Black Bush Golf Club Perpetual Trophy. There were also prizes for longest drive, nearest pin, front 9 and back 9. The team representing the Dunshaughlin GAA Golf Society captained by Jim Smith negotiated a testing course and testing weather conditions to claim 1st place. Also on the team were Declan Bannon, Neil O’Dwyer and Dessie Caldwell. Congrats to all involved in organising such a great day for the clubs and societies in the community and to the Black Bush Golf Club for their hospitality and a course that was in impeccable condition.

Helping in the community

A great morning spent cleaning up the village with our Tidy Towns team. A big thanks to all those who helped out. Poor Ben Duggan worked so hard he managed to break a brush. Best Wishes to our Tidy Towns team next week as judging takes place.
