The Dublin U16 ladies management team would like to thank all clubs, mentors, parents & players who were involved in the trials over the past number of weeks.
Over 180 players have taken part in trials and the overall ability and skill levels of all the players was a credit to their clubs and coaches. Well done to our Maurs girls who went in to trial - Naomi Clare Nina Byrne Eimear Conway, Sinead Moran and Niamh Carthy. Unfortunately due to volume of numbers the panel has had to be cut drastically. Well done to Naomi Clare who will stay on the panel to represent Maurs - best of luck

St. Maurs U/10 Football and Camogie were rewarded for a great effort all year when the were presented with Training tops at their final coaching session of 2012. The girls put in some terriffic performances during the season and recorded many notable results in both codes. Thanks to all the parents for their support and to managers Meave Hughes, Maura Hoey, Paula Morley, Dana Cullen, Collette Kelly, Fiona Daly, Paula Mackey, and coachs Laudie Austin and Leo Bissett.

Congratulations to the pupils and sporting staff of Rush National school who have had tremendous success with their three teams entered in this season’s Cumann na Bunscoil series of football games. A special presentation night was held in the club during the week where the three teams were recognized for their achievements to date, well done to all concerned.

St. Maurs Annual Christmas draw which is the Clubs main fundraiser for the year was held on Saturday night and we are happy to report that despite the current gloomy economic climate the draw again was very successful this year. The most sincerest thanks goes to the efforts of the draw committee, our draw promoters, the army of volunteers from our membership who have annually worked on the draw especially over the last number of weeks and in particular on the draw day, along with our office staff. The results are posted on the club website as well as the face book A/C and printed list’s are being distributed currently. The first four winners of the 201 prizes were 1st Toyota Avensis or €20,000 Anita Dennehy, 2nd €10,000 Nicola & Aisling Gaffney, 3rd €5,000 Tina Gaffney, 4th Trip to Las Vegas or €2,000 Jack Lynch. It can be reported that the first place winner is still in shock at time of going to print.

Watch out for a write up on one of our U12 players in this weekends Sunday Independent by Dermot Crowe ( Sports section Page 16) . Fantastic achievement for Aaron Meighan to play in croke park . Well done to him and all involved.
