We had no winner of our Lotto Jackpot for €14,800 last Sunday night in Jack Kelly's Pub, Greenfields. We had one match 3 winner - Sharon Joyce (Cloughanover). Promoter's prize went to Varley's Pub. Membership is now due for 2015. Membership for adult players is €80, while underage/social members is €30. The strict deadline for membership for senior players is March 31st.
Well done to Michael Day, Dylan Corbett and Darren Moran and all the Galway panel on their u-21 Connacht Championship win over Mayo last Saturday in MacHale Park. Both Mikey and Dylan started for Galway and put in excellent performances at midfield and wing-back respectively. They now play Roscommon in the Connacht Final on Easter Saturday.
Our minors started their league campaign with a fine 1-9 to 0-9 victory over Caltra last week. They were a point down at half time then pushed on at the start of the second half to open up a big lead heading into the final quarter. Caltra then clawed the gap back towards the end of the game. But the lads dug deep and defended very well in the last 10 minutes while under pressure, with keeper Darragh Doherty with few key saves also. Stand out players for Headford were James O Brien in midfield with great fielding throughout and Cathal Newell for his scoring prowess, ably assisted by Sean Moran, Conor O'Malley, and Darren Higgins.
Our Intermediate team are down to play Oranmore in the first round of the Cahill Cup on Saturday at 5pm in Headford, all support welcome.
Our u-14's are scheduled to play away to St.Michaels' in the league this Sunday at 11am.
Our u-13 side defeated Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the league last Wednesday on a score line of 4-7 to 0-1.
