We had no winner of our €20,000 lotto jackpot last Sunday night in the Angler's Rest Hotel. We had one match 3 winner of €150 - Michael Butler (Hollymount). Numbers drawn were 14-15-17-23. Promoters prize went to TJ Egan. Next week's draw will be for €20,000 and will be held in Varley's on Sunday night.
Our Intermediates were defeated in the Championship Quarter Final last Sunday by Cortoon Shamrocks in Tuam, 2-9 to 1-10. It was once again a heartbreaking way to exit the Championship. The club would like to thank the management team of Neil Walsh, John Davin and Noel Gibsey, their backroom team, all the players and everyone involved with the team this year for the huge effort they put in.
The Juniors also suffered defeat in the Championship last Friday in the third and final group game vs Annaghdown. However, our previous 2 wins in the group had already secured a place in the semi-final where we now play Claregalway. Details of that fixture will be on our social media pages and website.
The Minors were defeated heavily by Kilconly in the third round of the Championship, leaving them with 2 points from 3 games with 2 fixtures yet to play.
The u-16s were also defeated in the Championship Quarter Final by Killanin last Sunday. In what was a great game of football, they came out the wrong side of a 4-15 to 5-10 scoreline.
Well done to our u-14 lads for providing a hugely exciting Championship Quarter Final last evening against Claregalway. Match finally finished in a draw under floodlights after extra time. Great credit to the Headford lads for kicking the final two scores to level the match. Replay will be next week.
