The Intermediates are in league action this weekend. They play away to Dunmore at 6pm on Saturday, all support greatly appreciated, The juniors play their final league game of Division 5 on Friday. A win there would give them a chance of reaching the league final depending on other results. Throw in is at 8pm in Headford,

The under 13s reached the Division 3A league final by defeating Kilconly 6-4 to 5-6 in a play off following 3 teams finishing on equal points in the league campaign.

They will now play the winners of Kilconly v Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the league final. Date and venue to be confirmed.

U-16's suffered another heavy defeat in the league. With injuries and players unavailable we were only able to play 13-a-side and thanks to Kilconly for accommodating us. We actually finished the game with twelve players after Donagh Murphy went off injured with ten minutes left. Donagh's performance was one of the few bright points for us. He gave an outstanding display of fielding from kick outs and drove at the opposition defence every chance he got. Ezra Heraty had his best game of the season at wing forward and scored a quality goal in the first half. Captain Thomas Newell tried hard to get scores on the board in the second half and we actually scored more times than Kilconly in that second period but the game was well and truly over by half time. Thanks to all the lads who togged. Six of our starting team are injured at the moment and hopefully these injuries will clear up before the shield quarter final next month.

Congratulations to two of our young footballers Seán Birmingham and Mark Earnor. Seán was selected for the Cumann na mBunscoil Galway team which played at half time in the Connacht final and Mark has been selected for the Galway u-14 panel this year.

The club enjoyed a fantastic week for Cúl Camp 2017 as a record 180 juvenile players took part.

Their energy and excitement was infectious and makes the future prospects for ourselves and Stfurseys Ladiesgaa look very bright. There's great momentum gathering in the GAA in Headford at the moment and the club would like to thank all of the coaches who are making a great commitment in volunteering their time to help foster and encourage this development.

We are always looking for extra help in lots of different capacities so if you would like to join in then please talk to any of our coaches.

For anyone looking to get hold of one of the new maroon away club jerseys in juvenile sizes (which will come in handy for Galway matches) we are currently taking orders. The next order will be submitted on in this next 2 weeks and delivery back to the club is approx 4 weeks.
