We had no winner of our Lotto Jackpot for €10,700 last Sunday night in Murphy's, Kilbeg. We had no match 3 winners so drew 5 lucky dips - Kenneth O'Toole (Curramore), Keith Donnelly (Ashthorne), Pauline O'Connor (Myrehill), Catriona Earnor (Knocklahard), & Declan Murphy (Kilbeg). Numbers drawn were 3-24-31-32. Promoter's prize went to St. Fursey's Ladies GAA. Next week's draw will be for €10,850 and will be held in Greenfield's on Sunday night. Our Intermediates were defeated by a point vs Oughterard last Saturday in the winners group of the Championship in scorching conditions in Spiddal, 0-12 to 2-5 the final score. Once again the first half of the game did not go our way as Oughterard picked off some fine points, we struggled for scores. Thomas Lee was our standout player however, and he finished the half with 1-1 which turned out to be our only two scores at the break as we trailed 0-8 to 1-1. The goal was a fine individual effort, after hitting a thunderous shot against the crossbar, Tom managed to finish the rebound himself. Things improved greatly after half time and after Niall Meenaghan scored a point, Cathal Newell created a goal chance which Seán Meenaghan brilliantly finished to the net. Niall then levelled proceedings after 10 minutes of the second half and the game was well in truly there to be won by either side. Oughterard kicked on with the next three points before Niall Meenaghan once again closed the gap to 2 with a free with less than 10 minutes to go. Sub Alan Meenaghan came on and he struck over a point which left the minimum between the sides as we headed into injury time. Unfortunately a clear cut chance to level the game never came and a very good second half performance was not enough to clinch a result. Credit must go to all the squad and management again who put in a big effort and played until the finish. Johnny Leahy and Kevin Carey were solid at the back, with James O'Brien putting a fine performance, sub Eric Flynn made a big impact once again when he came on. Again we showed our resolve with yet another fight back but on this occasion it was not rewarded with a last gasp result. Of course we are still very much in the Championship. We now head for the back door and a last 12 game which is scheduled for August with the draw to determine our opponents in 2 weeks time.

The junior Bs drew with Milltown 1-7 apiece in Headford last Sunday in the league leaving us with 1 point after our first 3 games. Full report next week. The u-10s are down to play Tuam Stars away this Saturday at 11am.
