Our Intermediates were slightly unlucky to lose to Claregalway this evening in Headford. Goals were the difference between the teams as the final score stood at 2-9 to 0-10. It now leaves us with just 2 points from 4 league games and in need of a win when we play Spiddal at home next Saturday at 6pm.

Despite the loss we had some good performances around the pitch, namely Cathal Newell, Eoin McHugh & Richard Fahy.

The u-16 panel ravaged by injury worries put in a stellar performance to advance to the second round of the Championship, following a 6-8 to 1-8 victory over Oughterard in Headford this evening. In truth the scoreline did not tell the full story. We trailed 0-6 to no score after 15 mins but two goals in quick succession from Sean Monaghan and Mike O'Brien after an inspirational point from Thomas Newell put us ahead. We lead 2-5 to 0-6 at the break, despite being second best for most of the half. The start of the second half saw more pressure from Oughterard and they were unlucky with 2 goal chances, but we took advantage when a long ball in from Darren Higgins ended up in the net. We never really looked back after this and our inside forward line of Mike O'Brien and Niall Egan really began to wreak havoc. They banged in a series of goals as the likes of Gavin Lee and Colin O'Reilly kept things assured at the back for the rest of the game. Full back Kasper Potniatowski capped a fine performance with a ppoint near the end of the game. Credit must go to our wing forwards Eoghan Halloran and Jamie Walsh who worked tirelessly along with midfielders Sean Monaghan & Louis McGeehan. Best for us on the evening were Colin O'Reilly, Thomas Newell, Darren Higgins and Mike O'Brien.

We now play St. James' next Tuesday in the next round in what will be another tough game. Thanks to all who came down to support the team.

The prize amounts above are what each winner will receive.
